Kansas – Sales and Use Tax Workshops

The SALT Report 1277 – The Kansas Department of Revenue has released their 2012 tax workshop schedule. The workshops are specifically designed to address the sales and use tax concerns of new businesses, small businesses, contractors and subcontractors.

The workshops will help answer the following questions:
  • Do you know if you are responsible for collecting and remitting Sales Tax?
  • Do you know what tax form is needed and how to fill it out?
  • Do you know if you are liable for sales tax on the goods and services you sell in your business?
  • Do you know if you are liable for Kansas Use Tax when you buy things outside of Kansas?
  • Do you know if you have to collect or pay another state’s Sales Tax?
Participants will gain a basic understanding of the goods and services subject to sales tax. The workshops will further clarify your tax responsibilities, record keeping and filing requirements, form preparation, and purchases with exemption certificates.
These workshops will be offered in various cities throughout the state.  Pre-registration is required, and a fee may apply.
