SALT Report 1312 – The Delaware Division of Revenue issued a reminder for taxpayers regarding their 2011 business licenses which expired on December 31st. All businesses operating in Delaware are required to have a state business license as well as any individual that claims Delaware business income or expenses, full or part-time workers, consultants, and freelancers on a federal Schedule C or Schedule E form.
Currently, any Delaware business license holder may opt to renew their license online using One Stop. To renew online, businesses need their nine-digit Federal Employer Identification Number or Social Security Number and their Business License Number. The Business License Number remains the same each year, but can be found on your current State of Delaware business license. You can pay for your license using a credit card, debit card, or by direct debit from a U.S. bank account any time of day, and any day of the week.
Additionally, any business renewing a license may request a three-year license. Three-year business licenses purchased for 2012 will remain valid through December 2014. Renewal notices will not be sent for license years 2013 or 2014.
