SALT Report 1405 – The Georgia Department of Revenue has released a calendar with the sales and use tax return and remittance due dates for 2012. The calendar contains information for monthly, quarterly, and annual filers.
The calendar also includes the due dates for payments made by electronic funds transfer. Payments made by EFT are considered timely when completed no later than the return due date. However, in some cases the taxpayer’s bank may require an earlier filing date in order to meet the department’s remittance due date. It is the taxpayer’s responsibility to verify that date.
