North Carolina – DOR and IRS Announce Small Business Seminars

SALT Report 1604 – The North Carolina Department of Revenue and the Internal Revenue Service have partnered together and are offering small business seminars regarding the tax implications of starting a business. The seminar series was started in an effort to support small businesses and keep jobs in North Carolina. The seminars will focus on the eight basic tips every small business owner should know.
In addition to explaining state tax laws and the responsibilities of business owners, the seminars will provide information about the Small Business Taxpayer Recovery Program.  The program offers penalty and fee waivers, as well as longer-term repayment plans for small business owners who have fallen behind on sales, withholding or other trust taxes.
Participants will also learn about federal tax credits, record keeping, filing and remitting sales tax returns, employment taxes, and protecting your financial documents.
