Nebraska – Fall Tax Seminar Guide

SALT Report 1646 – The Nebraska Department of Revenue is offering a series of seminars regarding sales and use tax and the microenterprise income tax credit.  All seminars are open to tax professionals and the general public.
Sales and Use Tax
These seminars cover all general aspects of sales and use tax, such as licensing requirements, exemptions, reporting, and taxable services. However, some seminars will address specific issues such as the taxability of manufacturing machinery and equipment, food ingredients, prepared food, nonprofit organizations, and construction contractors.
Microenterprise Tax Credit
This seminar will cover the sales tax exemption for purchases of MME parts, and repair labor used in the manufacturing process.  Topics of discussion include qualifying manufacturing operations and which equipment qualifies for the exemption.  A portion of the session will be dedicated to contractors who annex or install MME, or perform repairs on MME.  This session will benefit anyone operating a manufacturing facility or anyone who provides equipment, parts, or repairs to manufacturing operations.
These seminars are offered as a free service by the Nebraska Department of Revenue; however, in the event a facility charges a fee these fees will be passed on to those attending the seminar.
The Department has provided free downloadable course materials and CPE credit is available to those that qualify.
