Arizona – Taxpayer Rights and Responsibilities

SALT Report 1807 – The Arizona Department of Revenue revised its publication regarding tax collection rights and responsibilities.  The purpose of the guide is to provide taxpayers with an overview of the processes the Department will follow in an effort to collect taxes.

The guide addresses the following topics:

  • What to do if you receive a tax bill in error,
  • Partial tax payments,
  • Installment agreements,
  • Offers in compromise,
  • Liens, and
  • Voluntary wage assignments

The Department warns that the publication is general in nature and may not thoroughly explain your rights in regards to the appeals process and audit assessments.  If you have questions you are urged to contact the Collections Department at the Department of Revenue.
