California – Board Meets to Discuss Technology Transfer Agreements

SALT Report 1799 – On October 11, 2012 BOE board members held an interested parties meeting regarding possible changes to Regulation 1502 Computers, Programs, and Data Processing and Regulation 1507 Technology Transfer Agreements.

Specifically, the BOE discussed how to determine when sales or purchases of software should be considered technology transfer agreements; how tax should apply to sales of software; and how to distribute any refunds that may be due.

Another meeting to discuss the issue will be held in January at a date to be determined.
