Kansas – Revised Tax Publication for Hotels, Motels and Restaurants

SALT Report 1861 – The Kansas Department of Revenue updated its tax publication for hotels, motels, and restaurants.  The publication discusses updated sales tax sourcing guidelines, exemptions, licenses, and surcharges that may apply to these businesses.

The publication also includes a discussion of Revenue Ruling 19-2010-04, which was recently revised and addresses the retailers’ sales tax and transient guest tax charges imposed by hotels on transient guests.
