North Carolina – Coupon Booklets May Be Delayed Because of Hurricane Sandy

SALT Report 1889 – The North Carolina Department of Revenue is warning taxpayers that they might receive the paper coupon booklets used to file their sales and use tax returns (Form E-500) later than usual.  The printer that creates and distributes the documents is located in an area that was heavily impacted by Hurricane Sandy and because of this they were unable to ship the booklets on time.

To date, the printer has shipped 56,000 monthly E-500 booklets and plans to ship utility and liquor sales tax returns by November 7, 2012. Quarterly sales and use tax booklets will be mailed near the end of November.

Taxpayers who use the Department’s online filing and payment system will not be affected by this delay.
