SALT Report 2038 – The North Carolina Department of Revenue warns that more than 15,000 quarterly sales taxpayers who file paper returns will receive their coupon booklets later than they have in the past. The Department reports that the vendor they use to print and ship the documents has been experiencing technical difficulties.
Although the coupon books have been delayed, the Department cautions that if a return is not timely filed, penalties and interest will be assessed. Therefore, if you do not receive your coupon book you can use the Department’s Online File and Pay system or print and file a paper copy of the Web version of the return to ensure that you file by the January 31, 2013 due date.
