Illinois – Repeal Date for Act Covering Wireless 911 Fees Extended


SALT Report 2152 – The Illinois General Assembly enacted legislation that extends the repeal date for the Wireless Emergency Telephone Safety Act from April 1, 2013 until July 1, 2013.  Additionally, the Act authorizes the Illinois Commerce Commission to collect and distribute the monthly fees collected by the wireless carriers to fund emergency access to wireless 911 services.

This Act is effective February 4, 2013.
