SALT Report 2213 – The California State Board of Equalization has released their latest Public Agenda Notice where they will address proposed changes to the following sales and use tax Laws:
Revenue and Taxation Code Section 6369.6 will be added to the Sales and Use Tax Law to provide an exemption for medical marijuana purchased for hospice patients.
Section 6358.3 will be added to, and Section 6018.1 will be repealed from, the Revenue and Taxation Code to provide that the use, furnishing or sale of drugs and medicines, as defined, by a licensed veterinarian, a city, city and county, county, or other local government animal shelter, or a nonprofit animal welfare organization are exempt from tax, when used, furnished or sold for the treatment of animals.
The meeting will take place at 10:00 a.m. on March 12, 2013 and all public comments regarding specific agenda items will be accepted at that time.
