South Dakota – Gross Receipts Clarified

SALT Report 2225 – The South Dakota Legislature passed a bill that clarifies the gross receipts that are subject to tax.  Specifically, the bill states that the gross receipts do not include any South Dakota retail sales and service tax, gross receipts tax on visitor-related businesses, municipal non-valorem tax, or municipal gross receipts tax, so long as the tax is separately stated on the invoice, bill of sale, or other similar document provided to the purchaser.

House Bill 1039 is effective July 1, 2013.
