California – Electronic Bank Levy Program

SALT Report 2311 – In May, 2013, the Franchise Tax Board will begin implementation of its Electronic Bank Levy Program (eLevy) which will manage all bank levies ordered by a State agency. Once the program is operational, the FTB will stop notifying taxpayers about of an ordered bank levy by paper.

Participation in the eLevy program by a financial institution is voluntary however; those that do participate will find that many of the manual processes have become automated which will save them time and increase overall efficiency.
