Connecticut – Taxpayers with Unpaid Liabilities Will Not Be Issued Renewed Tax Licenses

SALT Report 2621 – The Connecticut Department of Revenue Services issued a notice to taxpayers warning them that due to recently enacted legislation the Department is now prohibited from renewing the tax licenses of any taxpayer with outstanding liabilities, effective July 1, 2013.

Because of this, the Department will begin sending out letters to delinquent taxpayers giving them the opportunity to renew their sales tax, cigarette tax, or tobacco products tax license by paying their past due taxes or entering into a payment agreement. Once the taxpayer has satisfied one of those conditions the Department will renew the tax license.
