California – Emergency Relief for Taxpayers Affected by Wildfires

SALT Report 2767  – The California State Board of Equalization announced that relief is available to taxpayers who may have been affected by the recent wildfires in Los Angeles and Riverside Counties.  The BOE is offering these taxpayers an extension to file their returns as well as relief from interest and penalties for certain taxes and fees. In addition, the BOE will make available expedited copies of business records to replace those lost in the fires.

The BOE has created a webpage that will allow affected taxpayers to request relief from penalties and interest, or an extension to file a tax or fee return.  If you do not have Internet access you should call the BOE customer service center at 1-800-400-7115.
