North Dakota – New Tax Commissioner, Ryan Rauschenberger, Appointed

SALT Report 3164 – ND Gov. Jack Dalrymple has appointed certified public accountant Ryan Rauschenberger to the office of North Dakota Tax Commissioner.  The current Tax Commissioner, Cory Fong, announced last month his intention to leave the post by the end of the year to work for a Bismarck-based advertising agency.  Gov. Dalrymple said “I want to thank outgoing Commissioner Cory Fong for his dedicated service in leading the Tax Department for the past eight years” and also that “Cory has been very committed to advancing the department’s outreach and he worked closely to usher in historic tax relief for the citizens of North Dakota.”  Ryan Rauschenberger’s current role is that of Deputy Tax Commissioner and has worked with the agency’s policy analysis and tax research team.  “Prior to joining the Office of State Tax Commissioner, Rauschenberger worked at the North Dakota Department of Commerce and the Minneapolis office of accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers.”
