California –Tax Relief For Counties Affected By Wildfires

SALT Report 3441 – Emergency tax relief is available to taxpayers directly affected by wildfires.  Relief may include filing extensions, relieving penalties and interest, or replacing copies of damaged records.  Counties directly affected include: Amador, Butte, El Dorado, Humboldt, Lassen, Madera, Mariposa, Mendocino, Modoc, Shasta, and Siskiyou county.

The tax relief offered applies to Sales and Use taxes as well as various special taxes.  Property tax relief may also be available.  Any questions regarding property tax relief should be directed to the county assessors’ offices. CA BOE Listing Of County Assessors
