Alabama – Severe Weather Sales Tax Holiday

Salt Report 3567– Beginning at 12:01 a.m. (CST) on Friday February 20, 2015, and ending at twelve midnight on Sunday February 22, 2015, Alabama will hold its fourth annual sales tax holiday giving shoppers the opportunity to purchase certain severe-weather preparedness supplies free of state sales or use tax. State sales tax is waived everywhere on eligible purchases, and counties and municipalities can elect to waive local sales taxes. Colbert, Franklin and Lauderdale counties have opted to waive county sales taxes and all local municipalities, except Vina, have opted to drop city sales taxes during the weekend.

This is the fourth annual tax break for severe weather supplies.
