South Carolina – Bolstering Collection Efforts of Unpaid Liabilities – GEAR Program

SALT Report 3714 – The Department of Revenue is collaborating with the South Carolina Ethics Commission to elevate collection efforts of approximately $3 million in penalties and fines due.

“A report from the South Carolina Ethics Commission shows more than $3 million in related penalties and fines is due to the citizens of South Carolina. According to the report, more than $900,000 is owed by violators from the Midlands Region; more than $800,000 from the Lowcountry and Trident Regions; more than $550,000 from the Grand Strand and Pee Dee Regions; and more than $275,000 from the Greenville, Upstate and Pendleton Regions. The South Carolina Ethics Commission’s Debtors’ List is available on the Commission’s website at ethics.sc.gov/Debtors
