Louisiana – French Quarter Sales Tax Increase Approved

SALT Report 3737 – French Quarter voters have approved a quarter cent sales tax increase in order to fund increased police presence in the area. The administration expects to raise at least $2 million annually over five years from the neighborhood tax increase. Most of that burden will fall to the millions of annual visitors to the Quarter. The tax increase doesn’t apply to hotel stays.
