California – (EFT) Payment Changes beginning July 1, 2016: Taxpayer Action Required

SALT Report 3835 – New Bank and Payment Processor Beginning July 1, 2016, the bank that processes EFT payments for the Board of Equalization (BOE) will change from Citibank to MUFG Union Bank, N.A. (Union Bank). Also, the EFT payment processor will change from Fidelity National Information Services, LLC to First Data Government Solutions, LP (First Data).

How am I affected if I pay by ACH Credit?

The bank account number and routing number will change. Contact your bank to have them initiate your payment using the correct ACH Credit Specifications.

Payments made to the incorrect bank for settlement on or after July 1, 2016, will be returned and may be subject to penalty and interest charges. In addition, any payments to Union Bank prior to July 1, 2016, will also be returned and may be subject to penalty and interest changes.
