Oklahoma – OK Jackson County commissioners announce increase in tobacco tax revenue for January

The Jackson County Board of County Commissioners met in regular session Monday at the Jackson County Courthouse.

District 1 Commissioner Marty Clinton, District 2 Commissioner Kirk Butler, County Treasurer Renee Howard, County Clerk’s Deputy Jennifer Sunday, and Sheriff Roger LeVick were present for the meeting.

The board reviewed and approved blanket purchase orders, claims, and the February monthly report and reconcilement for the Jackson County Election Office.

Howard reported that county sales tax collections for January totaled $107,874.70, a decrease of $8,117.59 from the previous month. Use tax collected for January totaled $5,037.34, a decrease of $2,150.35 from the previous month.

Though both sales and use tax decreased, tobacco tax collections from January increased by $89.46 from the previous month, totaling $1,247.45.
