PROVO, UTAH (AP) — Shoppers in Utah County soon will begin paying an extra penny for every $4 spent on taxable goods, excluding food, starting April 1.
The Utah County Commission on Tuesday voted to implement the fourth-quarter cent sales tax to fund roads and transit.
The tax is expected to generate about $22 million per year, with Utah County getting 100 percent of the tax proceeds before July 1, 2019.
