The Gadsden City Council passed resolutions Tuesday revoking the business license of five businesses for unpaid sales taxes.
The issue was brought up at the pre-council meeting on March 5, when Revenue Director Lisa Rosser said there was a total of nearly $200,000 in unpaid sales tax outstanding from 11 businesses.
Of those businesses, many have since made payment arrangements with Avenue/Revenue Discovery Systems, a Birmingham-based company that collects the city’s taxes.
