The Goldsboro City Council expresses its support for the proposed sales tax increase that would benefit Wayne County schools. Tuesday, the city council unanimously approved a resolution supporting the one-quarter-of-one-cent sales and use tax referendum that will be on the March 3rd Primary ballot.
Wayne County Manager Craig Honeycutt told the Goldsboro City Council and attendees that if the referendum did not pass, the county could be looking at a three-and-a-half-cent property tax increase to cover the planned school improvement projects.
